Bendigo Tech School is a high-tech learning environment with innovative education programs that are linked with local industry to deliver real-world learning contexts. The Bendigo Tech School aims to equip secondary students in the Greater Bendigo LGA with competitive enterprise skills and capabilities, boosting STEAM skills and student employability while also improving student engagement and influencing study and career choices.
The Algorithmic Art program blends the physical world of pen plotting robotics and the digital with generative coding, allowing students to harness the power of technology to create amazing generative artworks.
Cost: free, but please only book if you are certain you can commit to attending the program.
Age range: Year 7 to 10.
To avoid disappointment, please do not book in younger children or they will not be allowed to participate in the program. Alternative arrangements for younger siblings who are not participating in the program should be made.
This program is open to Home Education Network students who reside in regional Victoria.
Parents/guardians can attend if they present a valid Working with Children Check to Bendigo Tech School staff, however, they will be asked to not actively participate in the sessions.
Please arrive at 9.15 am for a 9.30 am start. Your child should bring food for morning tea, a water bottle, and any medication they require.
The Bendigo Tech School is located on Level 3 of the Engineering & Technology Building at La Trobe University’s Bendigo Campus in Flora Hill. The building is accessible via Sharon Street, with the main entrance located at the Sharon/Keck Street roundabout. Parking is available on Sharon Street for free (but can be limited) or in the nearby car park 2 at a small cost.
