With women still significantly underrepresented across STEMM fields, it’s critical that we create opportunities that inspire, connect, and empower the next generation. That's why we were proud to host the second annual Bendigo STEMM Stroll this month, delivered in partnership with Women in STEMM Australia, La Trobe University, and the Goldfields LLEN.

STEMM Strolls have been designed to strengthen connections in regional areas, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and support networks where these can be harder to find. By sharing the diverse and intersecting experiences of women and girls across STEMM disciplines, these local gatherings build visibility, belonging, and momentum toward greater gender equity in the field.

Alongside students from Eaglehawk Secondary College and Girton Grammar School, representatives from the City of Greater Bendigo, McClure Civil Management, Zonta Bendigo, Women in STEMM Australia, La Trobe University, the Goldfields LLEN, and Bendigo Tech School participated in the stroll around the beautiful LTU Bendigo Campus. Together, we walked, talked, and took meaningful steps (literal and symbolic) toward a more inclusive future in STEMM.

It was amazing to see genuine connections forming throughout the walk, especially between students and industry leaders who generously shared their experience, encouragement, and insights.
