2026 Medical Clinical Immersion Day

Through our strong partnerships, we are proud to regularly offer local students opportunities to connect with industry for authentic, hands-on experiences. This week, the spotlight was on careers in medicine as our Medical Clinical Immersion Day returned for its second year.

In collaboration with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Goldfields LLEN, Bendigo Tech School was transformed into a mini medical precinct offering 45 students from five Central Victorian schools a taste of life in the field.

Rotating through a series of workshops, students learned a variety of practical medical skills utilised daily by real clinicians, from taking blood pressure to applying plaster casts. They then had the chance to explore study pathways at La Trobe University and Monash University, and gain real-world perspectives on what regional and rural medical careers are like, directly from current clinicians and medical students.

"Experiences like this are critical in helping young people see that these careers are not only possible, but achievable right here in our region,” says Dave Burton (Executive Officer, Goldfields LLEN). "We saw students leave inspired, informed, and genuinely excited about the possibilities of a career in healthcare."

Thank you to our partners at ACRRM and the Goldfields LLEN for their vital roles in bringing the 2026 Medical Clinical Immersion Day to life. Days like this are a powerful example of what can be achieved when industry and education unite.
