We were thrilled to partner with Zonta Bendigo to celebrate the 2025 International Day of the Girl earlier this month through an uplifting event designed to amplify girls’ voices, spark inspiration, and build connections across our community.

With more than 50 attendees – including some of Discovery Science & Technology Centre's Girls in STEM leaders, Seed2STEM GLAM participants, students from our partner schools, and the inspirational women in their lives – the Tech School was full of smiles, laughter, and encouragement.

The afternoon kicked off with a hands-on confidence and leadership session with Megan Simpson of Courage and Crowns, followed by a fast-paced Connection & Conversation Carousel with Zonta mentors (think speed dating for ideas and empowerment!), and wrapped up with a reflective activity on “The Change We Lead”.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us in empowering the next generation of young women to recognise their strengths, find their voice, and lead change.
