Across multiple sessions, they explore how classical logic and discrete mathematics underpin emerging quantum systems. Students experiment with Boolean logic, algorithms, and mathematical proof, before progressing to the core concepts of qubits and quantum superposition.
Using the University of Melbourne’s Quantum User Interface (QUI) simulator, participants design and test their own mini quantum programs to solve a futuristic problem. This hands-on, inquiry-driven experience strengthens mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and digital literacy, providing a conceptual introduction to quantum computing — one of the fastest-growing and most transformative fields in modern science.
